But hurry cause the auction ends in 8 hours, while the standard donations will continue until 30th april.

It looks like someone in Neptune is about to get his/her head shrunk, courtesy of one Mary McDonnell.

TVLine has learned exclusively that the Battlestar Gallactica and Major Crimes vet is set to guest star in Hulu’s forthcoming Veronica Mars revival as Jane, a warm-hearted therapist.

A Hulu rep confirmed McDonnell’s casting, but declined to reveal the length of her stay or who — if anyone — her therapist character will be treating. (For those wondering, yes, this is the Veronica Mars tidbit I teased in my latest Ask Ausiello column.)

The eight-episode revival picks up five years after the events of the 2014 fan-funded movie and features returning stars Kristen Bell, Enrico Colantoni, Jason Dohring, Percy Daggs III, Francis Capra, Ryan Hansen and Max Greenfield (among others). The mini-series will take the franchise back to its “hardcore So-Cal noir” roots, series creator Rob Thomas previously shared. “[There will be] one big case [with] eight episodes to tell the story. This is a detective show.”

Production recently wrapped on the revival; Hulu has yet to announce a premiere date.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WPRI) — For the twenty-second year in a row, Bryant University hosted a Women’s Summit on Friday, featuring leaders in business and culture to promote empowerment and inspire women.

Among the keynote speakers was Mary McDonnell, an actress, producer, podcast host, and 2018 winner of Trinity Repertory Company’s Pell Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Arts. Twice nominated for an Oscar, her roles across film and television include “Dances with Wolves,” “Sneakers,” the reboot of “Battlestar Galactica,” “The Closer” and “Major Crimes.” The latter two dramas featured strong female leads in the criminal investigation field, with McDonnell helming “Major Crimes,” which was spun off from the Kyra Sedgewick-starring “The Closer.” McDonnell’s “Lady Bam Podcast” documents conversations with an emphasis on women in entertainment.

Famed Hollywood actress Mary McDonnell and her sister, a professor at Bryant, say strong women in their life, including each other, have been a source of strength.

SMITHFIELD — One is a two-time Oscar-nominated actress and the other is an award-winning sociology professor, but these sisters know that they would not be where they are today without each other.

“My sister’s life as a feminist and as a sociologist and as a teacher and as an educator has really influenced the way I interpret the roles that I read,” said Mary McDonnell, a television, film and stage actress, as she sat next to her sister, Judith McDonnell, who is a professor at Bryant University. “Part of the reason I think I have been in the position I’m in is because I was fortunate enough to be raised around women such as Judy.”

Mary McDonnell, who starred as Commander Sharon Raydor in the TNT series “Major Crimes” and also played President Laura Roslin in “Battlestar Galactica” and Stands With A Fist in the film “Dances with Wolves,” gave a keynote speech Friday at Bryant’s annual women’s summit.
