Mary McDonnell reflects on her time on The Closer with Kyra Sedgwick.

Mary McDonnell has confessed that she will miss working with Kyra Sedgwick on The Closer.

The actress, whose Closer character is moving on to the spinoff series Major Crimes upon the former’s end, reflected on the pair’s close working relationship over the past several years.

“We had wonderful chemistry and trust,” McDonnell said of Sedgwick in an interview with Parade.

“It’s great when you’re working with a woman and you’re both not afraid to oppose each other or find the common ground.”

McDonnell added that while Major Crimes will be a different show, it will still stay strong to its roots, saying: “It has its own style, but we’re still going after the bad guys.”

She has said that she is “excited” about Major Crimes and having the opportunity to headline her own show.
